The strawberry season started a week early, with a bang. Unfortunately, that means that there aren’t many berries remaining to pick in June. Most likely, the Pick-Your-Own patches will close Saturday, June 8 or Monday, June 10. After the PYO patches close, only pre-picked quarts will be available for the remainder of the season.
“How much longer?” Is the most common question I hear. I don’t know. Time will tell. Usually, the “peak” is 2 weeks long, but not this year. Usually, the peak starts later than this year. Usually, we have a longer season. Usually, we have at least a week of pre-picked quarts available after PYO ends. Usually during the final week, the Stand is only open every-other day. But, a lot of “usually” didn’t hold true this year. So… I don’t know.
