Monday (5/22): pre-picked berries only, starting at 10:00am, until sold out. Closed Tuesday. Then the Pick-your-own fields open on Wednesday (5/24) as we shift to our regular daily hours. 9:00am – 7:00pm, or until sold out. Pre-picked quarts are $7. PYO trays are $20 (small tray, holds 4-5 qt), or $35 (large tray, holds 8-9 qt).
Strawberries are Here!
Open Saturday @ 10am. The strawberry season is just beginning. The first few days, we will sell pre-picked quarts only ($7 each). To begin, we will be open every other day (Saturday, Monday, Wednesday…) starting at 10am, until sold out. As quantity increases, more days and hours will be added. PYO fields will hopefully open Memorial Weekend, IF we have enough berries!
Strawberry Season starts soon!
The strawberry plants look great and are full of flowers, with green berries growing. We estimate the first RED strawberries will be ready in about 1.5 weeks, or about May 19-20ish (for pre-picked berries only). The Pick-your-own fields usually open about a week after the first RED berries begin. At this point the start date is an educated guess as weather is always the prime factor in determining the speed of berries ripening. Stay tuned!
Pumpkin Avalanche & Smash Fest, Nov 6
On Sunday, November 6, we will have a little fun. The Pumpkin Avalanche is our famous “roll a bunch of pumpkin down a big hill, watch them fly to pieces and then smash the remaining pieces.”
-At 2:00pm we need volunteers to help load the wagon with pumpkins from the patch. (The more volunteers, the more pumpkins we will have to roll!)
-At 2:30, the volunteers will have a chance to roll a single pumpkin down the hill.
-At 2:45, the Official AVALANCHE will begin. Watch the pumpkins roll and tumble, flying to pieces as the force builds…
-After the “all clear” signal, the crowd will be able to enter the meadow and SMASH any remaining pumpkins.
Note: NO ONE may be in meadow during the avalanche. Please watch the avalanche from the road bank, or the adjacent pumpkin field.
Admission Fee: Bring a donation for the Octorara Food Cupboard.
Pumpkin Picking
Plenty of great pumpkins are waiting to be selected for their new home. Pumpkins, sunflowers, gourds, corn and other Fall decor available daily. Monday through Saturday 9:00am – 6:30pm, and Sunday 12:00pm – 5:00pm. Free admission and pumpkin games.

The strawberry season is beginning soon, but the cold Spring weather has delayed the season by 2+ weeks. Hopefully, we will open the Stand by May 31, and the pick-your-own fields soon after that. Stay tuned!

Giant Pumpkin has Arrived
How big is the Giant Pumpkin? Guess the weight ($1 each guess) and the winner earns a family pass to the Pumpkin Olympics. The giant pumpkin will be smashed at the Pumpkin Olympics on Saturday, November 13.
