Strawberries are looking great, much better than last year. The cool weather this upcoming week will slow the process somewhat, but hopefully there are no frost or freezing temps (like last year when many berries were lost). We should be starting to harvest in about two weeks. Currently there are a lot of flowers and some berries starting to form.
The Pumpkin Stand & PYO are open 9:00am-6:30pm (Mon-Sat) and Sunday 12-5pm. Both “Quick stop” and “Family Adventure” options are available. Either select from a large variety of great looking pumpkins at the Stand, or or pick your perfect pumpkin in the field… then play Pumpkin Putt-Putt and the other games with your friends/family.
The pumpkin season has officially started.
Pumpkin Stand hours:
Mon – Sat: 9:00am – 6:30pm; Sunday 12 – 5pm
We have planted over 50 varieties of seeds which yielded a large selection of sizes and colors of pumpkins, squash and gourds. Sunflowers, straw bales, corn shocks, mums, and colored popcorn corn bunches are also for sale. We are a family-friendly, small farm that delivers a “Big farm” experience, but without the crowds and high prices,
This week is the peak of the strawberry season. Now is the time to think strawberries, especially if you plan to make jam, freeze berries for smoothies, etc. Please pre-order large quantities of pre-picked berries ($5/qt). PYO fields are open 8am-8pm if you prefer to pick your own ($2/lb).
“How much longer will the season last?” is a popular question. This week and next week for sure, then it will depend on the weather. Hopefully, we will have berries through the third week in June… but we don’t know now.
